“Expect an Attack”

Over the past few weeks, I have been praying WITH and praying FOR tons of my brothers and sisters in Christ. You see, when you are right on the brink of a breaking point, right at the verge of a new season, right in the midst of a blessing, a breakthrough… The enemy will sneak in and try to abduct the peace that GOD has given you. The truth is, as GOD’s children, we really should expect an attack. Not because were placed here to fight but because we are not OF this world (Romans 12:2) so the world will not understand our spiritual peace. As the scripture denotes, we have to renew our minds daily. In addition, we all know that when you reach a new level IN CHRIST or in life, the enemy has to do his job which is to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). Always remember, although the enemy/thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy Jesus came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. When you have an extra moment, take time to read how Jesus went through his own attack from those who were not a part of his sheep in (John 10).

Life has layered so many responsibilities on us, because of that we tend to go through phases where we become content, comfortable, and complacent. We have become so active in life that every now and then we let our spiritual guard down. Once this happens, and an attack creeps in, we end up in a state of disgust. Wondering, Lord what have I done to deserve this? Can I offer you some spiritual encouragement, reflect on (Joshua 1:8). God reiterated to Joshua about mediating on the word day and night, I suggest we do the same. After all, we have to be ready for known and unknown attacks. What better way to prepare than equipping yourself with the teachings in the bible. I promise you, once you grab a working understanding of it, it will be so liberating to your spirit AND to your life.

Please note: The enemy sees your potential. His objective is to rise up against anything that is FOR GOD because he is striving to eliminate the expansion of GOD’s Kingdom. What he hasn’t allowed to marinate in his little mind is that WE ARE ALL OF GOD for (1 John 4:4) states “little children, you are of GOD, and have defeated and overcame them (the antichrist) because he who lives in you is greater than he who is in this world”.

Let us now reflect on the many stories written to motivate us before, during, and AFTER the attack. I know there are several examples in the bible, however I will only focus on a few. The first attack that comes to mind is with Abraham and Sarah. Don’t forget an attack will and can be disguised in many ways. You see Sarah wanted to have a child with her husband Abraham. And although GOD informed Sarah it would happen, because it did not occur when Sarah wanted (her time) she allowed her mind to convince her that what GOD said would not manifest. Like many of us, when something is taking its time we like to place our hands on the situation. She instructed her husband to have a child with Hagar (the servant). Did she really want this to happen, no! But she lost focus. She stop believing. She failed to trust. We see this happen so often in today’s time. However, what GOD said to her did come to pass. She did have a child and it was with her husband Abraham. I encourage you to take some time to read up on this story, it will inspire you to remain obedient, trust in GOD’s timing, and keep focus. I could elaborate on how this action trickled down and caused one heck of a generational curse but I will leave that for my next blog post.

Another attack I want to discuss is the attack of David. We all know the story of David right? Well allow me to just explain this, David a man after GOD’s own heart, was attacked from different angles of life. He came face to face with a giant by the name of Goliath. Before I go any further, please understand this: The attack came to process you, not punish you. You see, everyone doubted David’s ability to fight and win because he was the youngest brother. But when the day came, David along with the help of the Lord, defeated the giant. Refer to 1 Samuel 17 & 18 to read more on this story. The moral of the story is this. David was attacked in so many areas even by people who doubted and counted him out. You see, when the enemy knows you are anointed, and knows your potential he will send those to verbally attack you and discredit your work. Please know that GOD is not looking for someone with ability, but someone with availability (quote from Joyce Meyers). With this in mind, know that because of the call on your life, there will be times when you will be attacked not because of who you are but because of the anointing that you possess. Take time to remain focused on the word of GOD and allow the words and biblical principles written to resonate in your mind. Prepare for the attack.

The purpose of this post is to do 3 things:

1. Encourage anyone who is experiencing a troubling season
2. To remind you that attacks come to develop you AND your character
3. To encourage you to keep your eyes on The Lord.

The minute we become distracted we slip, causing us to get pulled back into the very place we’ve worked so hard to leave.

I want to remind you that if you need prayer, you can email me at SHEprays4you@gmail.com. I have a team of prayer warriors that will intercede on your behalf.

Please understand that you do not have to GO through or GROW through your transition season alone.

Until next time, Be Blessed!
