“The Lord will fight for you, and you need only to be silent”-Exodus 14:14

Have you ever derived at a point in life where you searched and searched for a way to break free from disappointments? Have you ever felt like giving up, tired from all of the failed relationships? Have you ever felt like, your best just wasn’t good enough? Have you ever prayed for something, then failed at it once it came to pass? Let me tell you something, you haven’t failed at it until you gave up. ANYTHING worth having is worth trying… There is no way to be perfect at everything. There is no way to escape what was designed to make you grow. There is NO way, absolutely NO way to flee from what GOD meant to strengthen you. I read a quote from Steve Harvey, he said “Failure is a part of success”. He also quoted something that was very profound. “Warren Buffet won’t even consider hiring someone unless they have failed at least twice”…. When I read that, I related it to the story of Moses. You see, Moses was given an assignment. His assignment was to set free the Israelites. But this was not an easy task, and even he felt like giving up.

Just to give you a back story, Moses was born during a time where boys were ordered to be killed at birth because the people of Israel now outnumbered the Egyptians. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt gave an order to the midwives “If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is girl, let her live”Exodus 1:16. But the midwives feared GOD more than they feared Pharaoh. So they did not follow the instructions. There is a lesson to be learned in that. Fear GOD more than anyone else. When Moses was born, his mother saw that he was special and hid him as long as possible. Then she created a basket, and placed him in it and laid it among the bank of the Nile River. Now watch what happened next, Pharaoh’s daughter went to the river to bathe, saw the basket sent her maid to get it, and felt sorry for the baby. Pharaoh’s daughter adopted Moses as her own. Now what are the odds of that happening? You see, there are some attacks that are meant to kill you, meant to destroy you, but are also meant to set you up for your GOD given purpose.

Let me fast forward, Moses with all this favor (sparing of his life), end up being a murderer. The King knew of his act and because of this, Moses ran from his past. Have you ever felt like running from your shortcomings? It’s a good thing God doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve. Once the King of Egypt died (the one who knew of Moses murdering a man), the Israelites continued to suffer, but the Lord had a plan all along. An angel of The Lord appeared to Moses in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush (Exodus 3). Moses, with shame, was afraid to look at God. The Lord spoke to him and said “I have certainly seen the oppression of many people in Egypt”. And ordered Moses to go to Pharaoh, and lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. Moses did and said what many of us do and say when we have an assignment that is far greater than our own understanding. He said “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh and lead the people of Israel out of Egypt? God said, just like he says to many of us, I will go with you.

Just to be clear, no matter what you do, how many times you fail, the great I AM is with you. You are called according to HIS purpose… To make a long story short, Moses eventually under the leadership of GOD was able to complete his GOD given assignment. Just like Moses, you failed, sinned, you may feel like you are unworthy to be used by God and have a slew of negative emotions running through your head.

God said in Exodus 4:12 “Now go! I WILL be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say”. God is with you leading you, failure is a part of the process. Learn and LEAN on GOD. The key to decoding life is to understand the one who created it. There were things that Moses would not have been able to do without the leadership of GOD. Be still and listen to GOD. NOT man, not self, not your negative emotions… Listen to GOD. How can you hear from GOD if you are listening to other people? Check your leadership, are you doing what thus said The Lord, or what thus said the world?

My prayer is that you use what you can’t understand and allow GOD to equip you for the battle of life. Be still, know that HE is GOD. The great I am. Listen and Learn. Matthew 6:33 states “Seek ye the kingdom of GOD above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need”.
