“For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope…”
Are you in a season where you just don’t know what God is up to? You’ve done all you know to do, and you are so confused at what he’s requiring of you in this next season. You’ve listened to sermon after sermon, preacher after preacher, dialed into prayer call after prayer call, and yet you still seem to have arrived in a space where you just don’t know. Let me tell you, this is exactly the place where God intended for you to be. Let’s take a look at Jeremiah.
The bible tells us that The Lord informed Jeremiah “You WILL be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I WILL bring you home again”. Whew! That was deep. But reality is you WILL endure some hard times. The reason so many of you are blindsided by the enemy is because you are NOT receiving instructions from GOD. Don’t get me wrong, it is good to receive inspiration, motivation, and acceleration from others, whom he called, however, there are times in our lives, where we need to dive deeper within our own relationship with God. We can no longer survive off the direction of mere humans. To be motivated, we must first know our REAL motivator. The problem is this; we’ve substituted our relationship with God for a relationship with others who we view as “deep”. This is how the enemy can creep in and totally destroy you. When hard times hit, you can’t call them, they are not online giving revelation, they are not there to help pick you up, they are off somewhere living the life that GOD has for them. You see, God will never leave you nor forsake you. He sends his children to confirm, not to hold your hand. He(GOD) is your compass, he is your navigational source, he is your everything. Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying never listen, never seek counsel, never receive advisement from others. But I am saying once you hang up from the call, once you leave the church, once the YouTube clip ends, you need to study the word for yourself. We develop an intimate relationship by spending time with someone. The same goes for God. We have to spend intimate time with him, because life happens to everybody. And when it does, you WILL need God.
Let us also take a look at Moses. You see Moses felt that God really should have called someone else to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He even stated to The Lord “I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me” Exodus 4:10. Some of you may be feeling the same exact way… You know The Lord has called you but you don’t feel competent or “experienced” so the territory that you’ve envisioned is not aligning with your capabilities. Because of this, you’ve backed away and faded into the background and yet you STILL feel that this is NOT it. Let me offer some words of wisdom, nothing will be it until you submit to The Lord and study your word and walk in the path that God has for you. It may be uncomfortable, it may be confusing, it may be unfamiliar, but it WILL be promising. What is it that God has led you to do? Write it down, go into prayer, and ask for whatever skills you need to make sense of it all. If it’s boldness, ask for it. If it’s understanding, ask for it. If it is knowledge, ask for it. When Moses began to recite all the things he wasn’t God came back with a rebuttal to remind him who has the power. Exodus 4:11 states that God asked Moses “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say?”.
Before I wrap up this post, let us look at Queen Esther. It’s only right that we take a look at how God used a woman in the same manner. Many of you may already be familiar with the story, but if you’re not, let me give you a snippet. Esther was a woman with a peculiar anointing. She did not tell anyone about her nationality and family background. She did this because her cousin Mordecai, who took her in, instructed her to do so (Message: Learn how to keep quiet until God signals you to release information about yourself. This includes giving your testimony). You see Esther was chosen to be Queen after the original Queen was dethroned. But, later someone found out about her cousin’s nationality and went to the King to request an immediate action against them. In conclusion, he set them all to be killed. Keep in mind, this would also include Queen Esther. Mordecai, Queen Esther’s cousin, went to notify her of what was going to happen. She was completely distressed (Esther 4:4). Later in the text, more specifically, verse 14, Mordecai told Esther “If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for such a time as this?”. Basically, he was letting Esther know, her selection as Queen was about much more than physical Queen perks. How did Queen Esther respond to this, she called a fast. Why? She wanted to fast/sacrifice before making a major decision before approaching the King. The king had the authority to revise the set rule to annihilate her family. Well we all know how the story ends right, the King showed her favor when she approached him, and she ended up saving her relatives. Not only that, she was given property that belong to the person who set out to destroy her nationality. So what am I writing? Some of you are called to make life altering decisions that will shift an entire generation, but you are running from the call because again, the territory is unfamiliar.
Let me encourage you, please develop a deeper relationship with God, so you can walk into the season that was already written for you. God is waiting on you to follow his lead, will you put your idea of you away and walk into HIS ideas of you. Remember, affliction will come, but greater is he that is in YOU than he that resides in this world. Be a game changer, a difference maker, a peculiar people, an obedient child of God!
